The ultimate ambition of INDEX (INcremental Design of EXperiments) is to define numerically simple algorithms that solve problems of design of experiments under generic constraints with guaranteed efficiency.
In the current state of knowledge nothing allows us to think that, as stated above, this goal is achievable. The true goal of INDEX is thus to find how close, and under what conditions, we can get to this ideal objective.
